Interact With Your Music: Audiosurf!

Have you ever wished there was a more interactive version of your iTunes visualizer? Something where you could not only just watch? Well there is! And it's awesome. It's called Audiosurf, and it's sort of like Guitar Hero using your PC and choosing any of your songs (MP3s or MP4s).
This video is not particularly great (the song isn't perfect to the visuals), but you get the main idea. You can change the layout and colorscheme of the visuals, as well as game type (although "Mono" - what you see in the video - is probably most fun and compliments the songs best).
Just know that the game does not register bass as the best criteria for energy, and it's sometimes better to use more synth/vocal/noise driven songs if you want a fast paced game.
Check the demo out, and you can buy it and download off of Steam for $10.

New Moonbeam and More Techno!

This Russian duo is amazing! They have an insane amount of tracks and remixes out (can't say I've listened to all of them) and while some are not so great, the good ones are AWESOME! Not really a fan of vocals and trance synths (I'm quite biased...). But make sure you've heard these before checking out their new tunes:
Blackfeel Wite - First Night (Moonbeam Remix) [Slightly trancy for my tastes, but it's way too good for me to actually care]
...and waaaaaaaay too many others!

On to the new tunes which are massive!

More Techno:
Hobo - Touch [Minimal]

You Need To Download These Mixes! + Vontroke's "Vocal Chords" Remixed.

Wighnomy Brothers Live at Watergate Berlin
If you haven't heard of these guys, you need to check out their remixes of Gui Boratto's "No Turning Back" and Royksopp's "Beautiful Day Without You."
This mix doesn't sound much like the remixes, going a lot deeper into the techno, but it's still laid back enough to give you that warm Wighnomy feeling.
Download @ ResonantVibes.

Trentemoller at Betalounge, Hamburg
Oh my god how can you not be in love with this man?! He's amazing. Period. Hopefully you're already familiar with his essential mix (which I think won a few awards?). I've already said it, but the way he blends all types of music is stunning. I wish I could listen to music the way he does.
Anyways, check this mix out, really chill as usual, many genres, and so great to put on in the evening.

Sandwell District's RA Podcast
Another awesome mix from Resident Advisor's weekly podcasts. This mix bleeds techno. It almost hurts. You can definitely tell it was made for home listening, as it's still low on the BPM.

mnml ssgs Mixes
(That's called minimal sausages) People have been saying that minimal is dying for years. Sure, it got way too trendy for a bit, but now that there's less focus on the scene, the stuff that's coming out is good. Really good. If you're a fan of minimal, definitely check out mnml ssgs as these guys really know their stuff. That and they host awesome podcasts, all downloadable on the page menu. I haven't listened to all of them, but if you're scared at choosing a first, try Silent Servant's Mix #30.

Magda Live @ 10 Days Off, Belgium
Oh yes. More minimal. This is one of my favorite mixes from Magda. It's upbeat and busy, as usual, but it's not too much so that I can't use it as "pump me up" background music.

If you're curious to check out other mixes yourself, ResonantVibes is the perfect place to do it, especially with the ability to stream the mix before (or instead of) downloading it. Also check out Seth E's profile as he uploads the best stuff.

Claude Vonstroke Remixed!
I'm definitely a fan of "Vocal Chords". Oh boy does that drop get me every time. Such a fun tune. There have been a few remixes, but they were crap. Finally Tim Green and Voodeux have produced something of quality!

PS: Happy New Year!!!
